Femininity

Lately, I've been dressing in a far more feminine manner than usual. I'm lusting after silk camis, cashmere shrugs and beautiful chiffon dresses; bad news, as I already own far too many clothes. For a long time, my general style has been messy Parisian chic (skinny jeans, leopard print and tux jackets) by day and then the Dolce woman (Bellucci, corsetry and killer heels) by night. Perhaps it's due to the abundance of kimonos and general 1920s referencing that I'm seeing a lot of at present?

On the subject of fashion, I don't like to copy trends but I'm interested in the emergence of fetish and 40s glamour on the AW11 catwalks. I remember being hugely dismayed at some of last season's efforts (colour blocking and "lux" sports clothes really don't grab me) but I'm quite excited about the new trends.

Harper's Bazaar is worth grabbing this month for a few words from D&G and some amazing Helmut Newton shots.

"\The most beautiful creature on earth is not the only woman, \and if there was anything that could add more to her beauty does not mean it's priceless. Tattoo is the best way to convert a very beautiful woman,\ elegant, and sexy than ever". One has to be careful in the selection of tattoos that represent the feminine point of attraction, otherwise you may land on what is appropriate for your look and character. Tattoo and signed many of the women in the lower back, \because it makes it look interesting because it is more of the bends. Apart from the lower back, preferably in the hips, arms and neck from the side by the women when considering the tattoo"

Shammiji told Jaya he's tired: Big B

His never-say-die attitude had begun to ebb, says megastar Amitabh Bachchan, whose wife Jaya had spoken to Shammi Kapoor a few days before he died.

"He had got tired during the last two days. Never one to give up, he spoke, for the first time in a tone that conveyed that he had had enough, to Jaya a few days ago. 'I am tired, I can't take it anymore' he lamented, with choked emotion," Amitabh posted on his blog bigb.bigadda.com.

Shammi, the dancing star of 1950s and 1960s, was on dialysis before he died early Sunday morning. He was 79. Amitabh was not just a good friend, but also a relative to Shammi.

"Shammi Kapoor, that rebel star, tall blue eyed handsome beyond greek-god-good-looks, flamboyant, the life and energy and joie de vivre of the Indian Film Industry, that caring lovable elder, now a relative, gone ¦ silent forever!" posted Amitabh.

"When I came to Mumbai to join films he soon 'noticed' me at some of the social events that I had the pleasure to visit and when I did 'Anand' and after, he became a constant for us. Neelaji, his second wife after the sudden death of his first, the wondrous Geeta Bali, became extremely fond of Jaya and I as did Shammiji and from then on there started a constant family like relationship. Little did I ever realise that one day it actually would fructify into a family relationship. Shweta married Niky (Nikhil Nanda), Raj Kapoorji's daughter Ritu's son and we had become official relatives," he added.

The 68-year-old actor recalls that Shammi used to lovingly call him Babua, and wanted to drive a Rolls Royce.

"He would affectionately call me 'Babua' and every time he saw me excel in something, his was the first call. He just loved life and all that it threw to him. He never gave in," he wrote.

"...Loved cars and driving them. He may have had problems walking during his last moments, but it never deterred him from getting behind the wheel. 'I want to ride a Rolls Royce', he would often say. And when I offered to send him mine to keep and drive at will, he would resist it. 'Let me come out of the hospital then we shall both go for a drive in it,' he had excitedly told me. We never could get that ride together," added Amitabh.

The actor attended Shammi's cremation in Mumbai Monday, and tweeted: "Gone! Enveloped by flames, reduced to ashes into his abode in Heaven... Shammi Kapoor! Bhagwaan aapki atma ko shanti dein (May god bless your soul)

We guess it is going to be a quiet celebration, considering that the Kapoor khandaan is in mourning.

Katrina: Salman and I are still very good friends

Katrina Kaif comes clean on Salman Khan, catfights, politics and more...

Excerpts of the interview...

In Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, you look like a chirpier version of your character in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara...
I will have to say there is absolutely no similarity between the two. In MBKD, I had to completely let my hair down because my role is a lot quirkier. She is completely mad at times. In fact, it took me a while to completely feel the madness, but I guess that's the challenge.

Imran Khan says this is your best performance ever.
I have to confess that Imran and I come from completely different schools of thought. I never thought he had a great opinion on anything. But, I think we learnt to appreciate each other's eccentricities.

You are working with Salman after four years in Ek Tha Tiger. Are you nervous about spending so much more time with him?
Well, it's been a while since we've worked together apart from a few cameos now and then. I can't deny my equation with him has changed. It does with everyone. But we are still very good friends and that's not changed.

How do you manage to maintain a friendship despite so much being written about the two of you?
You can't really be bothered by everything people write. When you are at a stage in life where you are doing well, I guess a lot will be written. Salman is at a place where he is working that much harder, so there is little time to think about much else.

Is it true that you switch off your phone and cut-off from the world every time you have to shoot with Salman?
Not at all! I have a life beyond this. I wake up, go to work, come back and hang out with friends. That won't change irrespective of whom I am working with.

Why are you a part of catfights with everyone from Anushka to Kareena?
I know scandals sell, but not at the cost of someone's work or reputation. I would be lying if I say these stories don't affect me. But I speak for myself when I say that I'm not agitated by competition. I don't know about the rest, but I know how to handle it.

So you will be comfortable working with Anushka in your next film with SRK?
Of course I will. Plus, Anushka is doing a great job and it would be great to work with her.

You will be working with SRK for the first time too. Do you know him personally?
We've met at a few award functions. That's all.

A political party wanted you to endorse their work sometime back. Would you ever think of getting into politics?
I will get involved in social work, but never in politics.
